Recorded with\r\nproducer Thomas Brenneck of the Menahan Street Band at his newly-built\r\nDiamond West Studios in Pasadena, and with something of an open door\r\npolicy during the sessions, a stream of acclaimed musicians ended up across\r\nthe album's 10 tracks, including Nick Hakim, Latin Grammy-nominated\r\nBrazilian guitarist Rogê, Leland Whitty and Chester Hansen of Canadian\r\ninstrumental group Badbadnotgood, Chicano soul group Thee Sacred Souls\r\nappear on the melancholy 'Crushed Velvet', experimental jazz pianist Marco\r\nBenevento and El Michels Affair's Leon Michels. With her intoxicating\r\ncompositions, and wry brand of stagecraft (she might not be singing up there,\r\nbut she can sure tell a joke) Molly Lewis looks set to join her heroes in the\r\nstoried lore of the Los Angeles lounge scene and beyond.
